1er Cru Les Brûlées

Méo-Camuzet
Burgundy, france
The Méo-Camuzet estate consists of 14 hectares of some of Burgundy’s most prized vineyards, including six Grand Crus. Founded by Étienne Camuzet in 1902, for many years it was managed by sharecroppers. Eventually it was inherited by the Méo family, but it was not until 1985 that Jean-Nicolas Méo started to slowly reclaim the vineyards for domaine bottling.
To help guide his effort, Jean-Nicolas Méo called on none other than the late Henri Jayer, with whom he had an existing relationship from having farmed several of Jayer’s vineyards for his own wines. Jayer mentored him for three years before retiring in 1988. While Méo-Camuzet’s winemakers have changed, those early days under the leadership of Jayer helped set a blueprint for the estate’s future success.
The wines of Méo-Camuzet balance an intensity and concentration with a delicacy of flavors that unfold with time.
