Tasting Notes

This Balance and Finesse wine is at first reticent but evolves in the glass. With air, it yields delicious lemon rind, apple, and lemongrass, along with salty minerality and a touch of white pepper spice, with the layers of flavors unfolding in the finish. Serious stuff.

Why this wine made the cut…
Proves the point that there is serious White Burgundy being made in the Macon, and Merlin is one of the producers to take note of.
Mâconnais, Burgundy
GRAPE VARIETAL(S)
Chardonnay
100% Shar-do-NAY
Chardonnay may be the most versatile white wine grape, often seen as a blank canvas. It displays various flavors and aromas depending on where it is grown and more specifically, how it is made. It can range in Palate Character from Bright & Crisp to Rich & Full depending on the climate. It is also particularly malleable and highly affected by winemaking choices like as malolactic fermentation, lees stirring, barrel fermentation and ageing practices.
