Dal Forno Romano

Veneto, italy

Romano dal Forno is a man of conviction. He founded his family winery in 1983 without any experience in winemaking in a village lacking a reputation for quality wine. Through Romano’s tenacity and vision, the Dal Forno Romano winery is now considered one of the finest producers in Valpolicella.

Dal Forno Romano farms 12.5 hectares of densely planted low-yielding hillside vines 1,000 feet above sea level. He rigorously sorts grapes which are then air-dried to concentrate sugars before being fermented in stainless-steel tanks and aged in French barrique for two years. Wines undergo an additional four years in bottle before release.

Romano’s wines, thanks to meticulous work in the vineyard and winery, are deeply concentrated, exuberant, and complex, standing out as exotic, unique examples of Amarone. Dal Forno wines are rich and extracted, but with the structure and depth to age well.
