Bourgogne Blanc
Dominique Lafon
Burgundy, france
The Lafon family has made wine in Burgundy since 1865 but rose to prominence under the guiding hand of Dominique Lafon in 1983. While Dominique runs his historical family domaine, Comtes Lafon, he also produces wine under an eponymously named label, albeit with a different style.
Dominique Lafon farms 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune with a focus on upper-slope parcels with thinner top soils and more exposed limestone. The chardonnay and pinot noir harvested from these vineyards possess greater acidity and a more pronounced mineral character.
Wines bottled under the Dominique Lafon label are more tense and nervy than Comtes Lafon with a vibrancy that stands out, exhibiting Lafon’s versatility in both ability and vision.
