Chardonnay may be the most versatile white wine grape, often seen as a blank canvas. It displays various flavors and aromas depending on where it is grown and more specifically, how it is made. It can range in Palate Character from Bright & Crisp to Rich & Full depending on the climate. It is also particularly malleable and highly affected by winemaking choices like as malolactic fermentation, lees stirring, barrel fermentation and ageing practices.

Champagne Pierre Péters

Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, France

Rodolphe Péters took control of Pierre Péters in 2008, the estate in his family for six generations. Pierre Péters makes 100% chardonnay in 19 Grand Cru hectares, the majority of which are located in Les-Mesnil-sur-Oger.

The majority of the sustainably farmed vineyards are 100-220 meters in altitude on chalky soil, the perfect terroir to make some of the most elegant champagnes in the world. The most famous vineyard, Les Chétillons, is now reserved as a Cúvee Spécial.

The wines balance mineral, citrus, and crisp acidity, along with complex tertiary aromas from extended lees aging.
