Sadie Family Wines
Swartland, South Africa
Eben Sadie is a pioneer in South African winemaking. His relentless focus is to express the true nature of terroir, seeking out sites that he feels have the most potential for chenin blanc and his Rhône-style red blends.
Founded in 1999, the estate consists of 24 hectares with 53 parcels of vines. These low-yielding vines lend themselves to the small production of highly coveted and relatively expensive wines that are “made in the vineyard” rather than the winery.
The wines of Sadie deftly balance power and finesse. Sadie sets a high standard for chenin blanc—a testament to what is possible when idyllic terroir and talent unite.
